Role

The Marketing Director is responsible for setting the Marketing Strategy, and for establishing, promoting and maintaining their company’s brand to generate business. He/she is charged with developing strategies and executing tactics that communicate City Edge’s  brand message, customer onboarding, customer success and will be the buy-side customer interface with the company’s product and service offering, making sure that all functions of the organization are aligned to meet its strategic commercial objectives.He / She will lead the marketing team and work in coordination with sales in drafting, implementing and evaluating cross-functional decisions that will enable the company to achieve its long-term objectives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Produce ideas for promotional events or activities and organizing them efficiently
  • Partner closely with external agencies to drive the strategy for business growth to execute offline and digital marketing and creative brand building initiatives
  • Lead team of marketers focused on growing City Edge’s customer base and network
  • Responsible for implementing innovative messaging of company strategy and value proposition, both internally and externally with clients, influencers and customers
  • Translate goals into effective integrated marketing strategies and campaigns for key product lines and customer segments that support the achievement of quarterly and annual goals
  • Closely collaborate with strategic partnerships and across functions, to ensure the development and delivery of the most effective and efficient marketing programs.
  • Build, inspire, and lead a marketing organization that delivers against marketing goals, with clearly defined roles, career paths, succession plans, and employee success strategies
  • Develop and manage marketing program budgets; measure and optimize marketing programs to ensure activities are effective, efficient, and deliver high return on investment
  • Maintain a climate that attracts, retains and motivates top quality personnel.
  • Recruit, train, appraise, supervise, support, develop, promote and guide qualified personnel.
  • Identify and develop new market opportunities for the company’s product portfolio.
  • Develop and administer incentive plans which entice individuals as well as teams to perform successfully against the objectives while respecting the budget.

 

Strategy & Business Planning

•    As a member of the senior management team, develop and refine City Edge’s overall vision and strategy and contribute to the overall process of corporate management and decision making to ensure City Edge maximises business vision in the short, medium and long term.
•    In conjunction with the senior management team, lead the implementation of strategy in line with City Edge’s vision and mission.
•    Ensure that strategy is translated into annual operational business plans for the Organization and Department and that performance is monitored annually to ensure business plans are in line with the overall strategy.
•    Design and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to create awareness of the company’s business activities
•    Develop annual marketing plans for the organization.

 

Budget & Plans

•    Direct the preparation and consolidation of the Organization and Departmental budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of forecast cost and revenues; areas of underperformance are identified and opportunities to improve performance are capitalised upon.
•    Lead the development and roll out of manpower planning and forecasting activity, ensuring that City Edge is sufficiently resourced and appropriately structured to deliver on its objectives.
•    Lead cost-efficient usage of all other applicable other resources to reduce if not eliminate wastages resulting to unnecessary expense.

 

Policies , systems processes & procedures

•    Direct the development and implementation of Departmental policies, systems and processes to ensure that City Edge delivers a world-class service.
•    Ensure compliance with all applicable governmental laws and ministerial policies.
•    Lead and promote continuous optimization of systems and processes without sacrificing the required quality of products and services

 

HSE & Risk Management

•    Direct compliance to all relevant HSE and risk management policies, procedures and controls to ensure that City Edge provides a safe, world class, secure and environmentally responsible service to customers, the public and its own people.

Change Management

•    Lead and direct organisational and operational change through business-aligned change initiatives, programmes and projects that reflect international best practice and changes in the competitive environment and technological advancement
•    Lead and champion opportunities to drive continuous improvement across City Edge as whole in order to achieve the organization’s mission, vision and strategy.
•    Identify and take part in change initiatives, programmes and projects that reflect international best practice and changes in the competitive environment.

 

Continuous Improvements

People management

•    Organise and supervise the activities and work of direct reports to ensure that all work within a specific team is completed to the required standards and in line with City Edge operating policies and procedures.
•    Provide on-the-job training and constructive feedback to subordinates to support their overall development.
•    Champion effective leadership in order to manage direct reports’ performance, recruitment and development, and to ensure direct reports’ understanding of their role in achieving City Edge’s objectives whilst raising levels of engagement and competence.

 

Working Conditions

Office Based role with normal working conditions and normal physical effort. Does not require international travel

Necessary Experience

•    15-18 years of related experience of which a minimum of 5-8 years should be in a similar position / responsibility, preferably in a similar Industry.  
•    Experience in a fast growth environment and a decentralized environment.
•    Experience at working in a “performance based” environment to foster it within the team.
•    Proven work experience in Marketing in either an “in house” or an agency capacity
•    Expertise in different social networks, including Facebook and Twitter
•    Demonstrated knowledge of Press style guidelines, with extensive experience writing and editing press releases and related communication material.
•    Previous experience in real estate is preferred

 

Education Requirements

•    Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Finance, Business, Engineering or similar or equivalent.
•    MBA or Master’s Degree in related fields would be desirable
