Occupation Description

The Retail, Design, and Delivery (MEP) plays a pivot role in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems for all tenants in the projects. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and project management skills to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality MEP solutions and in shaping the retail experience within our real estate portfolio.

Job Scope

  • Review and approve MEP design concepts, drawings, and specifications for all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and consultants to ensure that MEP systems align with the aesthetic and functional goals of the mall.
  • Work closely with the construction team to resolve technical issues and delays that may arise during project execution.
  • Review and approve MEP-related submittals and shop drawings.
  • Monitor and track MEP project progress against established timelines, adjusting strategies to meet deadlines as needed.
  • Provide regular updates on MEP project status to senior management, highlighting key milestones, potential risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure that all MEP systems and components comply with local, national, and international building codes and standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify the quality of MEP installations and ensure compliance with design specifications.

Job Scope

  • Oversee testing and commissioning of all MEP systems to ensure they function as per the design and performance criteria.
  • Address any deficiencies or issues identified during inspections or commissioning.
  • Proactively manage and resolve issues that may impact the schedule, quality, or cost of MEP systems.
  • Develop contingency plans to address unforeseen issues and minimize disruptions to project timelines.
  • Maintain strong communication with internal teams, contractors, clients, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and requirements.

Job scope

  • Prepare and present MEP-related reports and presentations to senior management as required.
  • Integrate energy-efficient technologies and sustainable practices into the MEP design and execution.
  • Work closely with retail tenants to understand their specific requirements and provide support throughout the design, construction, and delivery process.
  • Ensure that all retail spaces meet quality standards and comply with relevant regulations.
  • Perform any additional tasks as requested according to the company’s policies and procedures.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical).

Most Common Work Experience Requested

  • 10-15 years of experience, minimum 7 years of experience in MEP engineering, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven experience in MEP design and project delivery within the retail or commercial sector.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems, design standards, and installation practices.
  • Proficiency in MEP design software and project management tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, MS Pro).
  • Familiarity with Egyptian real estate laws and regulations.
