The Senior Planning Engineer assists in determining and developing the most suitable and economically viable construction and engineering methods for projects. They are involved throughout the development stages, along with the project progress till closeout, and are present on-site during the build to oversee procedures. |
Job Scope
- Strong knowledge and practical experience with FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) and OS&E (Operating Supplies & Equipment) planning cycles.
- Ability to develop and manage detailed procurement and installation schedules specifically for FF&E and OS&E packages.
- Familiarity with coordination between interior design teams (FOH & BOH), procurement, and logistics related to FF&E/OS&E.
- Experience in handling vendor/subcontractor schedules and ensuring timely integration into the overall project plan.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, with solid skills in Cash flows and progress monitoring.
- Previous involvement in mock-up room planning, sample approvals, and tracking long-lead FF&E items.
- Strong understanding of hospitality project lifecycles, from concept to handover, including coordination with hotel operators.
- Ability to manage and track multiple procurement and fit-out packages concurrently.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to prepare executive-level dashboards for FF&E/OS&E packages.
- Exposure to international hotel brands standards and requirements is a plus.
- Review and Approve Consultants' & Contractors' Project Schedules & validate against the specified scope.
- Monitor and report contractor performance & provide project management technical support.
- Assist the project manager in administrating the construction contracts with contractors through correspondences and logs.

- Coordinate with the Contractor’s Planner to comply with the project’s objectives and master schedule milestones.
- Develop and update development schedules for projects (Design, Procurement, and Construction) and report deviations and corrective actions.
- Conduct periodical analysis for Top Management. (Projects Data, Presentation, Reports).
- Provide technical support for weekly progress meetings and issue Weekly Reports (Progress Status, Site Photos, Manpower Status, etc.).
- Issue planning-related letters such as but not limited to delay notifications.
- Prepare cash flows and their periodical updates.
- Develop Projects’ progress sheets, dashboards, issue logs, and other deliverables for project control.
- Assess EOT claims received from Contractors and Consultants.
- Perform any additional tasks as requested according to the company’s policies and procedures.
Education and Training
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Architecture, Construction Management or Civil.
Most Common Work Experience Requested
- 5-7 years proven experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably 3 years in hospitality projects (hotels, resorts, serviced apartments, etc.).
- Experience in a fast-growth environment and a decentralized environment.
- Experience working in a “performance-based” environment to foster it within the team.
- Proven work experience in Planning & Project Control.
- Mastering Primavera P6.
